The Privileged

Romney and his sidekick Ryan refuse to release tax returns for Americans to consider during this presidential campaign. Imagine if a democrat refused. Oh the horror.

Romney and Ryan are running on the top down economics theory of Ronald Reagan, the urination theory. The top down approach assumes that the top must do better (unregulated and untaxed) and in return will give the economy a jolt. The phrase repeated and repeated is that the top 1% are the job creators.

They are not the job creators.

Middle-income wage earners spur the economy through spending and dreaming to reach the top. Giving an advantage to the top only hinders the middle.

Where do these two men get their opinions? The ideologues take their cue from a single novel written by Ayn Rand – Atlas Shrugged. The novel includes romance, science fiction, and an opinion about objectivism.

In 1957, Ms. Rand described the novel as a mystery novel. Followers created a cult, using the novel as a means to change and shape government into an untenable beast.

According to Ryan, God and Nature and not government are responsible for your success and failure. Sadly, Ayn Rand was an atheist.

The other idea purported by Ryan is that welfare and other entitlements must be reformed. Sadly, Ayn Rand was on Social Security. Those of us who have spent 30 plus years paying into the system would never see Social Security if Romney and Ryan get into office.

Another argument used by Romney and Ryan is that the national debt has climbed over 15 trillion under Mr. Obama’s watch. This is true. The 10.1 trillion under the republican administrations belongs to Mr. Obama because he added 5 trillion more. Of course, we all know Keynesian economics (the stimulus), two unfunded wars, and medicare Part D were all added to the budget once Mr. Obama came into office.

So, who are these two individuals trying to change your future?

They are the privileged. You people don’t need to see their tax returns. You people don’t need social security. You people need to get off the couch and get a job.
