The Washington Post is reporting that the U.S. launched airstrikes in Yemen on Thursday night. According to U.S. officials, seven militants were killed. This brings the total to 15 killed this year. This is an increase in the number of deaths over the last decade.
These attacks are the second ones since the last airline bomb plot was blocked by a CIA informant who was given the bomb.
The paper also reports “The bombmaker suspected of designing the latest device, Ibrahim Hassan al-Asiri, has eluded U.S. and Yemeni authorities.”
