Microsoft Surface 2 Rumors

Rumors in the tech industry are usually wrong. Leaks tend to be red herrings. Sources tend to mislead. But every now and then a jewel is discovered and nerds get really excited.

There is no doubt that Microsoft will release second versions of the Microsoft Surface RT and Microsoft Surface Pro. NVidia’s CEO said this publicly and it was written about by tech bloggers ad nausea on August 8 and 9th. However, today’s discussions center around confirmation from analysis by AdDuplex and Microsoft Store data. Wouldn’t it be nice if all bloggers point to the origination of information? Yeah – anyway – back to reality.

The report by AdDuplex “is based on data collected from 393 Windows Store apps running AdDuplex SDK over the course of one day of August 24th, 2013.”

Over the day, new devices from Microsoft and Nokia showed up. In regards to Microsoft, devices named Microsoft Corporation Surface 2 and Microsoft Corporation Surface with Windows 8.1 Pro were visible. Nokia devices with an RX and a series of numbers were also noted.

This week The Verge is calling the Nokia tablet code named Sirius. Last week the same blog claimed the Nokia tablet was being developed under a different code name. Eh – that’s okay. Code names are internal names. We are just happy Nokia is working on a tablet.
