Noel Tock published his ideas regarding the future of WordPress in 2015. His ideas include custom dashboards and front-end editing. Noel points to the release of FrontKit in February and writes that WordPress.com will start using front-end editing in Q4 of 2015.

Yes, yes, yes! I am absolutely loving every idea that this guy is putting out. I haven’t even heard of FrontKit until you posted this today, but I’m going to keep an eye on this. Best thing ever. The points he made about switching between the two tabs (visual/text) in the WordPress backend was spot on. Constantly previewing how it’ll look on your website is pretty hassling as well, despite many of us being used to it by now.
He’s definitely on the right track. The dashboard (WP Admin) really needs an overhaul.
I also hope they focus on the multisite. It’s treated like the unwanted child.
