I finally took the plunge last night. The installation download started around 9pm and I finished tweaking and playing with the Windows 8 Build 8400 a little after midnight.
First impressions are that Windows 8 is a better Windows 7. Simply take Windows 7 and add metro. Now that may be simplistic but overall the experience is nearly identical.
Some workarounds learned while helping someone else with Windows 8 is to use the Windows Key on the keyboard to get back to the start screen. Also, the desktop has the same toolbar feature and learn to pin applications for quick launch.
