The WPF/e CTP is now available for download.
I haven’t tried it yet. I’m still trying to make sense of all the other changes going in Microsoft’s “web” strategy, such as separating out the new web design tools from MSDN, replacing FrontPage with SharePoint Designer, and decisions like not supporting ink in WPF/e.
This product positioning is getting too fancy for me. Reminds me a lot of the gyrations Borland went through in the 90s while they tried to figure out who they were. Fingers crossed that Microsoft figures this one out–sooner rather than later. I agree with Robert McLaws, seems obvious to me too–enabling developers to more–although, yes, I can see the flip side, enabling designers to do more. Either way, shouldn’t it be about doing more rather than this market packaging?
Mary Jo Foley has lots more on what is being released today.
