Apple iPad Now Commercial: Snobbish or On Target?

I’ve watched the latest “now” commercial a few times and don’t understand how the word toadying and this commercial fit together. According to David Kiefaber that ad is “lauded far and wide in the expert toadying of tech-news outlets.”

First, I must admit that the word toadying was new to me.  Toady is a noun, describing a person who tries to gain favor through flattery. Well, personifying Apple is already a stretch but – toady – really? Second, who really gives a toot? The commercial is a typical Apple commercial – and I think that is what bothers others. Apple isn’t discussing the RAM or video resolution, they present what you can do with the Apple iPad.

What do you think?
