Microsoft plans to attend CES but may not unveil consumer features of Windows 10 until a separate press event in January 2015. The September 30th event last one hour and was very low key and announced the Windows 10 name as well as the idea that Windows 10 will operate across all devices: one name-one platform-numerous devices.
Previous rumors indicated that Microsoft would launch the Consumer Preview build in Q1 2015, followed by a possible launch of the retail version in late Q2 2015 or early Q3 2015. –Tom’s Hardware.
