Tablet Fever: Market Heating Up

As October nears, Tableteers are starting to get excited. At least – I am.

Phil LeClare asks the ultimate question, How will you manage tablet fever?

  • Three-quarters of a billion tablets will be in use by 2016.
  • Some 82% of firms expect to support tablets for employees.
  • Tablets will accelerate the rise of the anytime, anywhere information worker.

Second, the author asks how will the IT departments handle provisioning tablets. Will the departments ask employees to take the blue or red pill? Our school is going with the BYOD – bring your own device. The challenge is that the IT department must provide the wireless password and the school district will continue to monitor and filter websites.
