Distimo analyzed the number of iPhone, iPad, and universal (both iPad and iPhone) applications and suggested a 38% increase in the number of apps for the iPad.
I decided to do a little re-arrangement of the numbers to see if there was another trend.
By rearranging the numbers shown in a TechCrunch article, we can quickly see that the sheer number of new iPhone only applications far exceeds the number of new iPad only applications. Despite a nice week-over-week increase seen in the iPad apps, developers are still targeting the iPhone.
Let’s hope this slowly changes when the WiFi+3G version becomes available to people this weekend … and international orders start shipping in a few days.
