Apple has formally announced the availability date of the Wi-Fi+3G models. Starting at 5:00 pm on Friday April 30, people who preordered can either pickup their device or expect shipment.
CUPERTINO, California—April 20, 2010—Apple® today announced that the Wi-Fi + 3G models of its magical iPad™ will be delivered to US customers who’ve pre-ordered on Friday, April 30, and will be available in Apple retail stores the same day starting at 5:00 p.m.
OK. Magical is a bit extreme. I’m also laughing at the rest of the press release. Apple PR sure appear to be having fun with this product.
There is no information about when Best Buy will receive their shipment.

Data per month Price per month
250MB/month $14.99
Unlimited $29.99
I should have mentioned in the story that having the pre-ordered devices delivered prior to availability in the store is a good idea. You may remember many people waiting for their deliveries when others had already gone to the store and bought one.
