Now we’re talking! A person in the Mobile01forums (Mandarin) has posted some pictures of an Eee PC-to-Tablet conversion. They’ve migrated the hardware from the keyboard-based Eee PC 701 into a slate style Tablet, including a resistive touch digitizer. It’s not bad although it looks bigger than a classic UMPC.

The individual is thinking of creating a kit. Sign me up, though personally I’d like to see something like a capacitive touch digitzer or maybe a WriteSense pen technology from InPlay. But, hey, this is a good first step. Hopefully if the person decides to make this conversion kit available, it won’t be too expensive.
It looks like the Homebrew days are returning.
