Tablet get-together at CES update

The Tablet PC Get-together at CES is going to be a blast. This year we’re going to have our own space–no sharing in a bar or restaurant. 100% Tablet only. So hopefully this time we’ll all be able to hear each other! Plus for anyone (OEM, ISV, etc) that wants to show off their latest wares it’s going to be a lot easier to get noticed by more people.

However, like at Comdex and CES last year, space is going to be limited and once again we’re going to be keeping the location a bit secret. Just email Lora (ljheiny@hotmail.com) or me at lorenheiny@hotmail.com and we’ll give you the location. The time? Saturday January 8, 10AM to 1PM.

Who’s invited? If you’re a Tablet owner, Tablet OEM/ODM or ISV, or you follow the Tablet market, drop us an email and we’ll add you to the list. (Remember though, space is limited so we’ll be adding names on a first come, first served basis.)

Last year at the Comdex gathering, we got our first peak at Lonestar. I think Peter stayed up all night taking screenshots so he could post them promptly at 6AM–when the news embargo was to be lifted. And if I remember correctly Toshiba was walking around with the as-yet-to-be-publicly sold M200s. No idea if we’ll be as lucky this year.

Actually, luck is going to play a role in this year’s get-together in other ways. Several Tablet companies, such as xThink and others, have graciously donated products for a giveaway. And we’re working on a great goody bag too.

We’ll also have some snacks, refreshments and a light lunch in addition to all the Tablet talk.

One last thing–to make all this possible Microsoft has stepped up in a big way to make sure that this year’s Tablet gathering is like no other. Tablet team members Frank Gocinski, Arin Goldberg, Tina, Rebecca Phipps and others have been gracious with their time and kindly responding to our endless emails to make it so.

Hope to see you there.
