The Tablet PC is nearing its second birthday and the innovation continues. Today Microsoft announced the availability of an update OS for the Tablet: Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.
The updated OS provides:
* A dramatically improved Tablet Input Panel (TIP)
* Better handwriting recognition
* Context-based recognition that improves recognition for non-Tablet apps
* And for developers an enhanced Tablet SDK including browser support for ink and a real-time stylus for managed apps.
If you have a Tablet PC how do you get it? Just enable Automatic Updates within Windows and it’ll happen automatically.
The new OS is part of Service Pack 2 so along the way you’ll get SP2’s new security features and much improved wireless control support.
