A few people have asked whether they can get their hands on WebcamNotes as is. I almost put up a link to a version here and then I thought better of it. The problem is that the app is still best left to hardhat Tablet PC users. The features aren’t complete, the app is not sufficiently robust, it only works with MovableType, .Text, and Postnuke (although other blogs may work) and more importantly there isn’t any documentation! However, if you’d like to try out WebcamNotes or maybe just launch it and scan through the menus to see what it is, I’ll pass along a version to the first twenty people that email me at lorenheiny@hotmail.com. Why just twenty? I just want to be careful about winding up answering too many emails. After a few more evenings of work I hope to have a version that’s more appropriate as a public download.
One last restriction: WebcamNotes exports to GIF, therefore WebcamNotes is limited to Tablet PCers in the United States. The code can generate Jpeg files now with a switch, but I need to remove the GIF code for those where GIF licensing is required.
