Inkblogging?

Scoble noticed I’ve been posting inked entries on another blog. I’m not meaning it to be an ink blog though. Instead I’m employing it as a testing ground for the WebcamNotes app I’ve been working on. This may be one case where handwriting is faster than typing (on a camera phone’s keyboard that is). 🙂

I’m trying to get the program ready to use at CES. Hopefully, it will make it practical for me to quickly capture webcam photos with my Tablet PC while I’m walking around CES, jot down a few notes, and then post them to this blog. In a sense it’s not much more than a Tablet PC version of a picture phone app. Although the Tablet PC is bulkier than a cell phone, I’m betting that it’ll be much faster and easier to use–besides, I don’t have a camera phone. Hehe.

Mihai Parparita, in a comment over on Scoble’s blog, challenges ink blogging: “I foresee ink blogging to be yet another short-lived fad, like audio blogging and video blogging (though like the aforementioned two, there will be diehards).”

I doubt I’ll maintain a whole blog with ink–although I’m beginning to see a few places where it seems to make sense–such as with WebcamNotes. I’ll be posting my impressions. If it’s a dud, I’ll be the first to say so. If it turns out to be useful, I’ll pass that along too. Exploring new ways to use computers is one of the reasons that the Tablet PC is so exciting for me.
