I was going to sit down and write a bunch of predictions, but I only have one for right now:
* The one millionth Tablet PC will reach the market in 2004
What predictions do you have?
Will Apple launch a Tablet PC?
Will IBM release a Tablet PC?
Will President Bush sign a new Patent bill into law on a Tablet PC?
Will the Los Angeles Lakers’ coaching staff use a Tablet PC in a televised game?
Will Oprah give all audience members a Tablet PC in next year’s episode of “My Favorite Things?”
Will the first convention specifically dedicated to the Tablet PC occur this year?
Will Tablet PC battery life reach 10 hours?
Will a prototype 20 inch Tablet PC be shown at Comdex in 2004?
Will a Fortune 100 company announce that it is switching to Tablet PCs for all notebooks?
Will the first $600 Tablet PC reach the market in 2004?
Will the first $5000 Tablet PC reach the market in 2004?
Will Larry Ellison be photographed with a Tablet PC?
More likely….will John Lasseter (of Pixar) be photographed with a Tablet PC?
Will Microsoft and manufacturers give $300 rebates to all college students that purchase Tablet PCs in 2004?
Will the first VC firm dedicated solely to Tablet PC ventures be formed in 2004?
I predict that Linux users will continue to bad-mouth the tablet pc while actual users of the product will continue to advocate it’s simplicity.
*Some linux users. Ian Murdock, the founder of debian (his wife is Deborah) obviously isn’t bad mouthing them. He owns a TC1000 and used it at a linux convention. http://ianmurdock.com/
