I’ve been revisiting my little webcam/note taking utility again. I decided to add blog posting support so I can use it at CES to quickly and directly capture photos on my Tablet PC, scribble a note and then post it all to my blog. I want to be able to do this quickly and effortlessly as I walk the showroom floor.
Here’s a sample post:
And here’s a screenshot of the app:
The program is “usable” (note the quotes) but definitely not ready for distribution.
Rather than write a new app from scratch I decided to modify an old note-taking experiment I wrote about a year ago that had a Journal-like metaphor for capturing photos in sequence and supporting ink annotations:
However, for my needs at CES I added a “card-style” view as shown earlier where each entry contains one photo and its ink annotations. So what’s the problem? Well, now I have a program with two metaphors–a card mode and a paper layout view mode and the two modes don’t work well together. In hindsight I should have started a new project. Oh, well.
I’m not sure when I’ll get a version cleaned-up enough to post. I’m particularly curious to see how the app works out at CES. Now I need a GPRS modem for the Tablet!
I see you’re a chinese traditional person.. 😛
