Riding high on Tablet PC-get-together adrenalin from Comdex, we knew we wanted to do something at CES too. However, we’ve been a bit tentative in organizing a get together at CES because it seems like it’s a Microsoft thing to do. The truth is Microsoft made all the difference at Comdex. They picked the VBar and paid for refreshments.
However, Lora’s been receiving emails and IMs asking if there’s going to be another Tablet PC get together at CES.
Before we go down the route of creating an invite list, I think we need to find out if Microsoft is planning something at CES or not.
I know if it was completely left to Lora and I we’d have invited even more people than we did at Comdex. There were several PR and press people that we excluded but yet are precisely the ones that the ISVs would like to talk with.
On the other hand, I really enjoy smaller get togethers where I have a better chance to talk in depth with more people.
It’s a tough call.
The one suggestion I have for Lora is that if we do organize a Tablet PC get together at CES that we find a place a little quieter than the VBar. How about the hallway next to the VBar and the ballrooms 🙂
Where is CES? Maybe I’ll try to go this time. I missed PDC and Comdex already.
Yes, VBar is too loud AND dark. RE: A smaller group, I believe that the real, real, real enthusiasts will find eachother after the initial meet-up (like Comdex, by the Tablet PC booths), so I think you can have the best of both worlds.
lol The Tablet PCs did provide most of the light, didn’t they? It was easy to spot the glow from Yarone’s C300.

I still don’t have my plans set for going to CES…it looks like I’ll go to the last couple days rather than the first few days, but not sure.
