The Palestinian organization Hamas accepted the United Nations sponsored temporary ceasefire early Thursday, following Israel’s acceptance of the terms earlier, AFP reports.
The five-hour pause in hostilities for humanitarian reasons was brokered by the United Nations, so as to enable Palestinians to regroup from the nine-day bombardment. The conflict has killed more than 200 Palestinians.
