First Apple lost a 3% global market share while Samsung made gains then quarterly reports showed Samsung second quarter profits were greater then Apple’s profits. Sales in China of its Galaxy S4 model propelled most of the profit gains.
Samsung’s operating profit for handsets was an estimated $5.2 billion in the second quarter of 2013, according to the report. Apple, meanwhile, had an estimated operating profit of $4.6 billion.
