AP is reporting that former U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter has died at his home in Philadelphia from complications of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He was 82 years old.
The former senator was a GOP moderate until he switched to the Democratic Party in 2009. During the 1960s, he rose to prominence in Pennsylvania as a prosecutor.
