Apple, Inc employees will have a very exciting week. While people are starting to receive tracking numbers for their pre-ordered Apple iPads, Morgan Stanley raised sales expectations to 8 million units for the 2010 year. The standing question is will sales continue to grow or will they shrink after the initial units are in the hands of select people?
There are five days to go before the blogosphere will contain hundreds of short reviews on the Apple iPad, expect everyone with a blog and interest in the Apple iPad to publish something. We’ll know the thoughts of each pundit, especially those who have had units for the past few days already.
Some reviewers will focus on the simplicity of instant on, shared iPhone apps, as well as the common gestures with the iPhone. Others will start to explain that the same glare found with the iPhone will also not allow you to sit in the park and read websites. I also expect some reviewers to realize that the weight of the unit, and shape, will make carrying the unit a challenge. Yes, we’ll see both positive and negative reviews.
Now, if you don’t want to wait for the reviews, or you want to touch one before you buy, select Best Buy stores will have units on April 3. The Palmdale California store is not going to open early but will have units available on Saturday.
