Greg Harmon from ITZ Belden studied traffic on three non-urban newspaper sites and concluded the sites attract technology enthusiasts. However, his report also has implications for Apple iPad sales.
Harmon said the interest in tablets spiked after the high-profile launch of the iPad in January. “The number of people considering tablets basically doubled overnight,” he said.
Most of this overnight interest comes from the release of the name, as well as the increase in the coverage on technology websites. Regardless, a doubling of interest is significant.
