Who is right? Will 1 million people vote with their money before April 3?

The Apple App StoreAnalysts are funny. They publish sales figures estimated by assumptions and bloggers, along with select journalists, run with the conclusion(s).

Over the weekend, sales for the Apple iPad were considered strong. Next, we saw publications that the pace of sales dropped. Today, we are finally seeing The Street speak up and say the analysts are wrong.

No kidding.

But I do love the anonymous tipsters who suggest sales are much higher than published estimates.

… enthusiasm is so strong that he expects Apple to announce it has sold 1 million or even 2 million iPads when the device becomes available on April 3.

Yeah. Let’s forget the naysayers. People are going to purchase the iPad – and they will continue to purchase them – because Apple brings to the Tablet PC market a lightweight slate, decent screen resolution, easy installation of new applications (tied to the App Store), a new book store, and a long battery life.

Yes, the iPad is “sight unseen” but no one is going to care. Stephen Colbert, Robert Scoble, and even my little ole dogs Pascal and Curie want one.

What do you think? Will over 1 million iPads be sold by April 3?
