Today Barnes & Noble announced the Nook e-Reader. It’s claim to fame is a dual screen: one a traditional e-Reader style black & white display and a second smaller, touch-enabled color display below it.
Engadget has more here, including videos.
It’s not only the two displays that’s unique here. (The price I guess is too: $259.) The whole user interaction is compelling too. Touch and slide on the color display and read in the upper panel. It almost has a Microsoft Courier feel about it in terms of being dual displayed.
I can’t help but think that we’re on the cusp of seeing a whole slew of e-Reader devices like this. Again, when will Microsoft and Apple step into the fray? We’ll see.
