What is WIPTE looking for in a video?

Clear visual examples of how teaching and learning has changed for the better using Tablet PCs Informative and concise presentation style.

Style may be entertaining, serious, or anything in between.

A willingness by the producer of the video to become a reference for those investigating Tablet PC’s in the learning environment by allowing the video to become a key online artifact in helping others to get better teaching and learning outcomes with this technology.

Note:

Videos submitted to the 2009 WIPTE Video Contest must be distributable via YouTube. Also, by submitting to the WIPTE Video Contest the submitter acknowledges that they retain sufficient rights to allow WIPTE to become a non-exclusive distributor of the video as submitted for the 2009 WIPTE Video Contest.

Timeline:

Deadline for submission: November 30, 2009.

Initial judging by the general Tablet community via YouTube ratings and views (tell your friends and colleagues!): November 30 through December 18, 2009.

Additional judging by the WIPTE committee with the final winner selected and announced via email and on www.wipte.org by the WIPTE committee on January 15, 2010.

Robert W. Heiny, Ph.D. is a retired professor, social scientist, and business partner with previous academic appointments as a public school classroom teacher, senior faculty, or senior research member, and administrator. Appointments included at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Peabody College and the Kennedy Center now of Vanderbilt University; and Brandeis University. Dr. Heiny also served as Director of the Montana Center on Disabilities. His peer reviewed contributions to education include publication in The Encyclopedia of Education (1971), and in professional journals and conferences. He served s an expert reviewer of proposals to USOE, and on a team that wrote plans for 12 state-wide and multistate special education and preschools programs. He currently writes user guides for educators and learners as well as columns for TuxReports.com.
