Immersion CTO Christophe Ramstein demoed a haptic keyboard at D7 today. The cool thing about this technology is that it gives feedback for each key that you press on the onscreen keyboard–and not for the whole keyboard itself. That’s cool in itself.

Christophe didn’t stop there, however.

He also showcased how the technology can be used in an IM environment to reach out and touch one another. You need to watch the demo to see what this means:
