I’m brainstorming.
Let’s say that Microsoft does improve the Zune HD line into the Internet eReader market. How far would it need to go to make it a first-class academic device?
Here are some features that make sense to me:
* Customizable Home screen, with school colors, graphics
* Where’s the clock? Battery life indicator? WiFi signal strength indicator?
* Student personalization. You don’t want Zunes mixed up.
* A calendar to keep track of assignments by date, next assigned, last completed, etc
* WiFi access to school servers with all of class content
* Ability to download/upload content
* Built in eReader
* A full Internet browser with Silverlight support
* Handwriting recognition
* Ability to answer live questions from the teacher via the device
Am I missing anything else? Bigger screen?
