This is a must view video for anyone interested in book publishing of any form, paper or electronic:
Michael Tamblyn, CEO of BookNet Canada, gives an enthusiastic presentation making the case for innovation in the publishing industry. Well done. I won’t spoil the surprise, you’ll need to watch the video to get the list of six innovations :-).

I’d put his presentation up there with some of the online classic ones. Once again it shows the power of the Larry Lessig style of presenting. http://presentationzen.blogs.com/presentationzen/2005/10/the_lessig_meth.html. You don’t need to know the publishing industry all that well to appreciate his commentary–especially the first five minutes or so on the synchronicity of innovation and the unemployment rate. If you watch no more than this, I think it’s well worth it. The jokes? Well, you may really have to know the industry better to appreciate his jabs at Platic Logic for instance.
