Scott Guthrie Mix09 keynote to start at 9AM PST today

You can watch Scott Guthrie’s Mix09 keynote here starting at 9AM PST this morning (Wed, March 18, 2009). (Be sure to click on “Day 1 Keynote” in the picture across the across the top of the page to launch the video if you don’t see it.)

Scott is rumored to be showcasing the latest efforts with Silverlight 3. Could this latest beta be the three-point-effort that jetisons Silverlight into the leading rich-interaction web-based development tool? I’ve been leaning more and more in that direction, despite the vast volumes of Flash content and developers out there. Silverlight has a flavor to it that’s consistent with the large numbers of .NET developers in the market and that alone gives me reason to watch it closely. The question is will it have enough developer features to make it worthwhile to create a wide range of amazing experiences? So far, kind of.

But it’s been lacking webcam support and on and on. Will there be some surprises along these lines today? Don’t know. We’ll have to see.

I’ll be watching and on twitter #mix09.
