AJ (a Treeing Walker Hound) uses Skype on a Tablet PC or desktop, he doesn’t seem to care which, to talk with Lora. This morning, Joan was using a desktop. Lora installed Skype on it when Skype was first avaialble.
AJ walked to the microphone and speaker, looked at it, and then distinctly barked woof-woof. This is the sound he uses to address Lora directly or to anounce he found Lora when someone asks him to find her.
He uses different sounds for each of Layne, Layne’s girls, Loren, Leanne and her children when he hears them on Skype or the telephone. He also talks with Mica, Larry’s Weimeraner, over Skype.
AJ talks (he barks in definite syllables) and sings (he matches tones and then elaborates on a theme he makes up).
This morning he repeatedly woof-woofed at the microphone for Lora. She was off-line. He looked so sad, maybe that’s to make Joan feel guilty for not connecting to Lora? 🙂
