Wouldn’t it be useful if Windows TaskMgr was able to indicate and/or display information on what each process was? I do this by hand now. When I go to someone’s machine and see a process I’m not sure of, I search google to see what it is. Is it spyware? A standard Windows service? Or some other app? Maybe Microsoft couldn’t provide the service itself, but could the OS provide a standard interface for it?
I use the nearly defacto standard Process Explorer from http://www.SysInternals.com to give me a good idea what things are. Then google if the information I needed wasn’t there
Thanks. Now that I think about it, it’s interesting that I grab for Google first. I guess I’m a googler at heart.
I generally browse to http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.php.
this, i guess, is being maintained by an individual. i found it useful. may be u would as well :).
and ofcourse, i google too. 🙂 (who doesn’t?)
