This morning I’m watching NASA TV courtesy of UStream and Spacevidcast. The shuttle is expected to launch today at 7:43EDT. I’d really like to attend. Let’s see: jump on a Southwest flight to Florida, then rent a car…hmmm….not quite enough time 🙂
The only thing I wish UStream would do is lighten up on the ads that pop up over the video. I realize that UStream wants to make money, but ugh, the ads for “10 steps to a better belly” or links to “official stimulus/recovery sites that are anything but official” are just annoying and wreek of being spamish. I guess if I break down and can’t take the ads anymore I’ll switch to NASA TV proper. You can’t watch the shuttle launch online ad free here.
How cool would it be to watch the launch in person? While going through chemo and radiation I made a list of things I want to do when I get things all straightened out. Near the top of my list is to watch the shuttle take off in person. I’ve seen it land and to top that off I’d love to see it launch. It would be quite memorable.
