Nineteen year old Jameis Winston was named the 2013 Heisman Memorial Trophy winner during a ceremony in New York. Florida State University’s freshman quarterback is the second freshman in a row to win the Heisman Trophy. Winston is the the 79th and youngest winner of the award. Former winners of the trophy from Florida State University include Charlie Ward in 1993 and Chris Weinke in 1999 (Forde, 2013).
