Curie was a special dog, a foot dog. She was adopted from Halfway Home in September 2009. Her fur was falling out, she was underfed, and had been adopted and returned twice before she found our home.
It took time to clean the gal up but she had beautiful fur by the end of her life. She was allergic to over a dozen items, from corn to grass. Fortunately, she loved chicken and rice or lamb and rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Curie also loved to sit at the top of our hill, position herself to look through the fence, and spent hours focused on the small dog in the neighbor’s yard. At night, Curie found her way to one of several beds spread throughout the house.
This is the last photo I have of Curie. Cancer took her quickly. It spread from her legs to her lungs. She died as I looked into her eyes and told her how much I’ve enjoyed being her friend. She was a good friend and I hope she understood my words of love. I miss her.
@Layne Heiny Be sure to say hi to Bose for me Currie. 🙂
@kevinhdevin Let’s hope she is with Bose, Albert, AJ, and Gracie – sitting on a hill, under a shade tree, and enjoying their days and nights
@Layne Heiny Bose prefers a lake with a dock for diving from. THEN a shade tree to rest up. 🙂
