Rob Bushway stimulated an interesting discussion about Bill Mitchell’s comments about Microsoft “stepping back” in working with Tablet PC technology. Responses to Rob are interesting.
I wonder, though, if “stepping back” has to do with globalizing the distribution of ink enabled technology. That gives Tablet PC hardware manufacturers and software publishers a chance to gather additional profits from existing technologies before investing in hot new technologies. Strategic globalization makes sense to me, but I don’t have any inside insight on the topic.
