Lora pointed to Jean and the article titled Why good software developers finish last. I want to elaborate a bit more about the following comment I posted after the article.
Your good title for this post illustrates your point about strategic marketing. I take your point.
However, I do wonder whether a good software developer need also be a good marketing strategist. It seems reasonable to me that someone with good strategic marketing skills would want to find good software to market. From this view, the question becomes, where do they meet?
In the Tablet PC sphere, it seems that someone outside of Microsoft could reasonably figure out how to get more independent software developers hooked up with more strategic marketers and distributors.
I’m especially interested in links that will result in the many good Tablet PC related products already available that school students can use today with the right strategic marketing.
Tablet PC Post provides a way for developers to distribute their products without much expense.
Maybe it exists, but I’ll show my ignorance by asking, where’s a comparable site for a developer to link up with a strategic marketer?
Hmmm, maybe it’s time to start another business.
