Main Page: Implications of a Learners’ View (ALV) for Practice
THE USE OF ALV (A LEARNERS’ VIEW) OF LEARNING opens ways to calculate costs and benefits of lessons for teachers, learners, and school funding sources. In this sense, 1.0 Teachers have found that they spend more time, at least initially, planning a lesson than in offering it to learners. In turn, learners have found that they spend less time learning those lessons than in using them later.
Perhaps someday, economists will offer formulae to calculate agreed upon balances of costs teachers pay to offer lessons with benefits learners obtain from learning those lessons.
