Note: The term Classic Education refers to the historic social purpose of education as a social institution for assimilating generations of people into society. This term was the original pubic name for this site and for presenting descriptions of A Learners’ View (ALV) of Learning.
I started this site, CLASSIC EDUCATION: A Learners’ View (ALV) of Choices … to describe a social foundation of learning in ways that teachers can use routinely in order to accelerate, increase, and deepen that learning promptly.
This foundation rests on the practical assumption that it is useful to know in and out of school what other people have done, how they used what they have done, and the consequences of those actions.
The term to know how to do refers to demonstrating that people can perform the same tasks as the most accomplished members of society perform.
This assumption accounts for a way to reduce the risk of new (whether by younger age or by immigration) members of society failing to participate as fully as do the most accomplish members of society.
