MICROSOFT (MS) CHANGED schooling again, this time with Windows RT on Surface. Ten months more than 10 years after it introduced Tablet PCs, MS brought together and expanded into one compact package strong features from those Tablets along with a more dynamic Windows operating system. MS calls this new package Surface.
Surface with Windows RT comes pre-installed with Office Home and Student 2013 RT Preview1. Stay productive with touch-enhanced versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
They will also release a Windows 8 Pro on Surface soon.
The name Surface highlights the touchscreen feature for ease of use by people young and older with and without challenges of manuvering the conventional electronic mouse.
Surface responds quickly, provides pictures (icons, “Tiles”) for navigation, and allows use of more graphics and videos than most teachers will cram into lessons.
It’s a thin, light weight machine capable of replacing customary desktops and older Tablet PC for learning and other productivity in and out of schools.
