CA Unemployment drops, remains above national average

The state of California unemployment rate continues to decline to 7.3% but remains above the national average of 6.1%. This is the states lowest numbers since 2008.

Biomedical and health services remain the top occupations with the fastest growth rates.

Coastal areas remain the lowest while areas such as Riverside and San Bernardino counties reported an unemployment rate of 8.4 percent in June.

The numbers do not reflect the number of individuals who have stopped looking or taken part-time jobs.
