The U.S. unemployment rate is below 8 percent for the first time since the Great Recession. After revisions for August and July reports and a gain of 114,000 jobs, the new rate is 7.8 percent.
The report states many of the jobs added were part time. There are now 8.6 million people with a part time job looking for full time employment.
Republicans are howling that this rate is “cooked” while others are now suggesting the republican talking points that a president has not been elected with a rate above 8% is gone.
