WordPress 5.9 Expected on January 25
Over 40% of websites use WordPress. The current major release is 5.8 and the next major release will be 5.9.
Version 5.9 Beta 4 became available December 21, 2021. The next step is a series of release candidates.
A new feature to 5.9 is the language switcher at the time of login. The option will not show if languages are not added to the site. Additionally, new hooks and functions are added for Posts, Post types and Taxonomies as well as four new built-in post types. Finally, there will be a new Gallery block.
