I am a really lucky person. My two daughters have been helping me prepare the house for sale. For the past two days my older daughter, Elizabeth, has been helping me with the back porch. She figured out how to cut and attach the lattice for the cleanest look. We finished the work this morning and it’s very impressive.
The temperature inside the house dropped immediately.
This is my third attempt at doing something with the back porch. The first time was a few years ago. My younger daughter and I put up 4×8 plywood sheets. This blocked the sun and made for a good porch but it wasn’t very artistic. In fact, my craftsmanship on it was very poor – with a “get it done” style. The second attempt was to change the angle of the porch overhang then apply plywood. I never finished that task. This time – it was perfect. The lattice simply slid right into the locations. The biggest hangup was the wasp nests – removed last night and sprayed down this morning.
