5. Records


Keep two kinds of records. (1) Record frequencies in your lesson composition (plan) book.
Keep it simple in this trial exercise. Write hashmarks for each instance. Then add them up as soon as you have time. (2) Write down each change of what you count until you identify a behavior pattern you use that increases how rapidly learners meet criterion for lessons. When you can show that learners respond to specific actions you count, then you have done something that answers learners’ primary question, What do I have to do? Use that pattern in your next lesson to test and refine its usefulness.
