A new post, ALV and the Common Core Curriculum, was added to the Main Page of Classic Education at EduClassics.com. The post addresses a question raised by a reader, “What’s the connection between ALV and the Common Core?”
Learners use ALV to learn content from a common core curriculum that meets the Common Core State Standards for academic performance. They use ALV the same way they learn anything teachers instruct. Learners learn when instruction of lessons matches learners’ choices as described in ALV.
Technically, this means that learners are the independent variable in the learning transaction with teachers. This contrasts with the over generalized image of teaching and learning where, in various ways, teachers lift the lid of learners and fill the void with knowledge.
