Just when I was getting convinced that the Tablet PC was going to morph into something more interesting, it sure looks like the platform is gaining traction–at least this weekend.
Tonight I did a search on Twitter for “Tablet PC” and among the references there were no less than 4 people that had purchased a Tablet PC or wanted to purchase one:
terryanne: got a HP TouchSmart tx2z series : tablet pc laptop! 🙂
eflemming: Learning how to write on my tablet PC. Turns out my handwriting really is that bad.
fintheman: Going to pick up a tablet PC to try out for some 802.11 work.
kentangjambu: NEW TABLET PC! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
And then there are a few on the fence:
ikao: hmm…to tablet pc or not?
moonylemur: uhm, can’t afford a tablet pc, nor cintiq for now.down to 2 options: wacom bamboo pen or adesso z12, any thoughts?
IanBillings: Thinking about a tablet Pc, there ares some good deals out there
And, of course, those spreading the word about what Tablet PCs are:
TealyBopper: Oh, I was showing Hayden what tablet PC’s are xD
itsmedana: playing on B’s laptop while he is at work. I will never go back to a pc, this is NICE. It’s touchscreen,a tablet, built in card reader
Yep, some people “get” the idea behind Tablet PCs right away. Others have to try it for themselves. Looks like the word continues to spread.
Now if we can just strart spreading the word that multi-touch enabled Tablet PCs are even better with Windows 7. There’s the smooth scrolling. There’s the Math Input Panel. There’s the multi-touch enabled onscreen keyboard. Plus lots more. Ink is just not a first class citizen in the Tablet world. Touch is now going to be too.
