Romney and his campaign are starting to see a trend that they will need to reverse soon or they could face a huge loss in November.
Polls are not always good indicators of the future. They are snapshots for the moment people are asked the questionnaire. However, the trend shown in the Five Thirty Eight Forecast is a huge alarm for the Romney campaign.
On Tuesday, Romney political director Rich Beeson said the campaign was using its “trusted” internal data instead of independent outside polls. “The public polls are what they are,” Beeson said. “I feel confident about where we are.” However, he doesn’t state the internal campaign’s polls are different from the public polls. Clever.
The real challenge will be watching the fundraising numbers and outside interest groups pouring money into the campaign. If the money dries up then the republicans are calling the game.
