Update about my Social Oxygen Manuscript

The publisher of TuxReports Network suggested that I post an update on my project with the working titled Social Oxygen: Reflections on Teaching and Learning as Social Processes. I’m writing off-line and will share it later. This manuscript is the book I expected to be assigned to read for my first professional education class. It uses a learners’ view (ALV) of teaching and learning. I knew then from reading for non-education classes that much of the research that grounds Social Oxygen existed in the professional literature. I found out that an agreed upon foundation of such experimental research does not exist for educators. I expected to read for teachers what Blackstone’s Commentaries on the Laws of England have done for juris prudence and the Hammurabi Code has done for medicine. They describe codes of fundamentals for their practices and what has grown into the professions of law and health care. I’m pleased to report that I sent out for review drafts of part of the Front Matter and of Chapter 1 of Social Oxygen for educators and our supporters to consider. Previous reviews have added to the clarity and flow of reading these drafts. Additional chapters will be sent for reviews within the next couple of weeks. I’ll post another progress report after that.
